i mean like if you try open/close the throttle while trying to close the choke can you get the choke to fully close when the throttle closes? that picture actually looks like it is correct for full throttle.

No, I cannot get the choke to close any further unfortunately. At this point it looks like it’s worth at least changing out the coil.

it really seems like the choke rod may be too long if you are not able to close the choke fully. you could try disconnecting it and perform the same test to see if the choke thermostat is the wrong one and the rod is possibly too long and holding it open. if it is too long you could try shortening it. the one i have access to has a couple more bends in it but the choke closes fully.

After work (boo) I’ll remove the coil and see if the choke shuts. If that’s the problem I’ll fix the rod if the coil isn’t broken, or order a new one if the coil is broken. I’ll let you know! You’re a life saver.
