They still used the LA 360 in 92 because the 360 mag didn't come out till 93. There where a few post's of 9X year trucks in Mexico that still had LA motors in them. Most likely it came from a 92 unless somehow a magnum was put in late 91.

check the distributor shaft, this sounds just like an issue me and my dad had with our old truck, the distributor had worn out a bushing in the distributor and would cause the rotor to not make contact with the cap properly. basically make sure the rotor shaft is not wiggling. something a lot of people overlook and we overlooked it by miles.

The engine runs! But I have a new problem. The engine runs beautifully when cold, but when it warms up, it starts to stutter, misfire, backfire, and stall while idling. Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Unplug the front O2 sensor. See if anything changes.

When it misfires warm, are you moving or parked with the hood up?

I did that and it doesn't stall now, but it does smell very rich and has a skip.
