Default will a driveshaft from an auto fit a standard tranny ?

Hello all. I am trying to find a driveshaft for a 81 dodge D 150 stepside with a 5 speed transmission . I found a driveshaft form a 87 D 150 but it is an automatic tranny .The wheel base ,spline count and rear end bolt count all match.Any thoughts if it will work?
Thanks in advance ,Unclebear

Unfortunately the yoke is also missing so it is a guess at best . A known nuckle to nuckle measurement would help immensley

That's gonna make life interesting. Try Car-Part.com. Should be able to locate what you need, either that, or if there is a large city nearby, see if there is a driveline shop that could make one for you. They aren't too stupid expensive.

What 5 speed? They werent used in '81. You need a yoke that fits first; is it a fixed yoke or a slip yoke? Manuals tend to be shorter than autos. A longer shaft can usually be cut down. Re-tubing to go longer typically costs more.

Edit: if you stay within the 7260, 7290, 1310, 1330, 3R ujoint series'es, conversion ujoints are readily available. Could make shafting from ford or chev work too.
