Default Ist Gen Ram

Hello, I'm a new member here who loves 1st gen. RAM trucks. I'm looking to purchase one and get active in the community. Right now, I have my eye on an '86 W250 manual transmission with a 318 motor and wanted to get some feedback from others on it. I have a chance to buy it for $9,500 and am wondering if that's a good deal? It has a new cat back exhaust, 4 inch lift, wheels, and tires. Body has a bit of rust and some damage but it's in good running condition.

Well, it does have only 110k miles on it if that helps. Body has some rust but chassis looks o-k. Not sure about the price that's why I'm asking. I heard these are somewhat rare and becoming classics so the price has been going up.

Well, Cali plates, so I am guessing rust isn't really an issue.... as that is what kills most of 'em. Wheels and tires are probably worth around 2k..... but, 9K??? For a 38 year old truck??? Really? Are used vehicle prices that outrageous on the West Coast???

Well, it was considered an "antique" 13 years ago. Mileage and manual trans are certainly a plus..... See what else is out there, that is as close as you can find, and what those are going for.... Likely more common where you are, than where I am.

A lot of motorhead programs on TV pay abnormally high prices for vehicles. Then they sell them for HUGE mark ups. The prices aren't what is actually paid but people see the show then think their stuff is worth that.

That said, I've seen 1s Gen trucks with no reverse for sale for $3000-$5000 in Kentucky and Tennessee.

Hello, I'm a new member here who loves 1st gen. RAM trucks.
"first gen" covers everything before 1994. The "ram trucks" first came out in 1981. Where you live certainly effects prices and condition. Look around ad see what else is out there then you will have an idea what the prices are like.
