new problem

Default new problem

318 motor sounds like a dead injector something . got sorta a miss like its not firing on all cylinders.
How would i go about diagnosing this..... i know the owner before put new plug wire, new cap , new coil. ect. maybe ill pull some plugs and have a peak for starters.....
I quess i should say its a 1992 ram 150 318 ect

Is the cylinder just dead, not firing at all? Might try swapping the injector for that cylinder, with the one next to it.... see what happens.

A couple of tools you can get are an infrared remote thermometer and a stethoscope. The thermometer will show the exhaust manifolds if you have a miss will be cooler. The stethoscope or even a wooden dowel rod, will let you listen to the injectors and see if they are working.

Make sure the previous owner put the plug wires on in the correct order. Or has it previously been running good?

i dunno he said it was in the shop he had a list of stuff they did. plug wires ect but had mentioned that one injector might be bad. guy said he had run some cleaner in the fuel and it was better.
right now i cant tear it down to investigate. im in the middle of moving to new house.....just thought i would ask here and get some ideas rolling and when i get to really dig into this ill pull up these ideas and have a go at everything...
