Default My beautiful old 91' D150 needs an ECM...help!!

The ECM on my 91' Dodge D150 failed two months ago. As I could not source a replacement anywhere, I sent the unit for repair/overhaul. I received it back, it was plugged in and the truck started right up. My mechanic drove it briefly and then when they brought it back and tried to move it to another bay, It started and then promptly quit. I sent the unit back to the servicer a few weeks ago and I'm still waiting for it to come back. My mechanic is very well assured that the issue is the ECM and nothing else.

If I can't find something like the Blue Streak Electronics BSE-ECC2666, then I would also be willing to just find a core that I can send out for overhaul to BSE via Autozone. At this point I'm pretty frustrated as all I want is a plug and start cure to keep my relationship with this reliable old girl going. I've owned this truck since 1992 and I invested in a new gauge cluster for it last year from LMC.

If anyone knows where I can find one of these ECM's working or not, please pm me. The truck is 2WD, with a 318 and automatic tranny with overdrive. It was an LX so I even have electric windows and cruise!

Would someone please find an ECM for my owner?

You need to get the # off the original one, Search for the # on ebay/net/car-part you will find one. I think you have worse luck with a reman one than a original that hasn't been touched. I see quite a few issues with the reman ones.

The p/n on the cover is completely illegible, even under various light and magnification. I was just informed today that my ECM is on it's way back, so we'll see. I still want to find a serviceable spare as this is a pretty important single point of failure for trucks with cores that are in short supply. Thanks for the reminder of car-part, I may find one there.

You need the # because there are different motors/options that went in these and the # will identify what it's for.

As a follow up, I found two salvage units that match year/motor/tranny/emission specs. I'm buying both, maybe send one out for overhaul and I should now be able to ensure having one good ECM.

I would test them both, and see if they work. If you get two working units, think I would stash one in a safe deposit box somewhere.

FWIW, I recently bought a ECM from carpart.com for my 1993 Caravan .... am using it now ..... no it did not fix my problem, but now I have a known good spare wrapped up and on the shelf in case I ever do need it.
These parts are getting harder to find when you have a forever car and think 10 years down the road we might need the part.

Going to start crying about that cars problems again .... think everyone just needed a break from hearing about it and I moved on to a different project
