Default Truck stopped running, new fuel pump was running for a couple weeks

My dad gave me his old 1990 D-150. He said it hasn't been running since like 2016. The reason he said he hadn't messed with it was because he started to take it apart because of some fuel issue he forgot what it was though. I put in a new battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel hoses and it started running again. It was running good for a few weeks now it won't start anymore. I already put like $400 in parts and getting the title and registration. I checked the ASD relay and it's getting resistance and continuity. I thought maybe one of the fuel filter hoses was too long so I cut it shorter last night and some fuel came out. I put starter fluid in the air filter and it does start for a second or two only. The last time I had it running I was letting it run for five minutes to warm up and then it just cut off and wouldnt start anymore. I'm wondering if it's the fuel pump even though I just put a new one in or a vacuum issue? I was also paranoid about the return and supply line configuration, if i got it right, but it must've been right because it ran fine for a good two or three weeks but I didn't drive it except down the street a couple times. I had the supply line run through the fuel filter and the other line on the fuel filter going to the metal line next to it. There's a black cap on the drain nipple. I couldn't find a new gasket for the sending unit into the gas tank neck so we fashioned some rubber inner tube material to try to seal it, could that be the issue? The red oil can light was on and it had low oil almost to the lowest level. It will crank like once and stop the first couple times then it will turn over repeatedly. Please help I really want to get this truck running, its driving me crazy and I could use it to make some extra cash and haul stuff. I just don't want to take the gas tank off again, it's a pain. I've already taken it off about three times and had to tap some bigger holes to get the fuel strap in after stripping threads and having to wrestle with it to get the bolts in.

Are you getting power out of it? The asd relay powers the fuel pump coil and injectors.

I tested the asd relay with a 9v battery and it's working. I just tried to jump start with my car and it actually started twice but died in a second. It was hesitating to crank like it would just turn over and click once but not start and making other weird noises.

No, Are you getting power out of the asd relay to the ignition coil with the key on?

If it started i doubt the asd relay is your issue. Sounds like you need to charge the battery or replace it if it's bad.

How do I know if its getting power to the ignition coil with the key on? Also it's a brand new battery so I doubt it and it had 12.4v on the multimeter. A mechanic said to check the solenoid motor too?

Skip the fuel pump for now. Unplug the coil, set your meter on 20 volts DC, red lead goes into the power feed for the coil. (there is only two wires, so, test both.) black lead goes to a ground somewhere. (pretty much anything metal... or, directly to the battery, if ya like.) Have someone else turn the ignition on. (not start) You should see power there for about three seconds.
