I actually like the eggcrate grill on my 1984 D150 the best of all of the 1st gen. grills. I also like my stock ride height which allows me to do some mild off-roading even with RWD.
I saw in a magzine one time, they traded a 1987 Ram grille out for a 1993 grille. It was an very involved process and took a lot of time. The two grille patterns don't line up so new holes had to be drilled and the front end had to be fabricated. Here is a pic of the finished product.
Nice, so what did you use to lower it. I have a 2" shackle drop right now. Just order my flip kit for the rear end, but I really don't now how to the front. All I can think of is to heat the springs.

So you think that I don't know, different paint colors are a waste of time and money? All cars should look exactly the same? Why don't we all just drive beige Camrys with ****-brown interiors?
I lifted my truck because I wanted to be able to put 35" tires under it for going off-road so I could get stuck just that much further into the mud hole. Some people like lowering their trucks because it's an expression of who they are. I've got a lifted truck, stock height truck, and a 5.0 mustang. I used to have a lowered car too, before I bought my Dakota. The lowered car handled a lot better than most stock cars do.
Customizing vehicles not only makes them one of a kind, expressing the individuality of the owner, but it also enhances certain abilities that the owner might want to take advantage of. Do you think putting non-stock tires on a car is a waste of time and money as well?

I have an 85 D150 custom and cant decide to lower or lif tit. i do use it as a truck, but not as a worktruck(hauling truely heavy loads). heres my quick photoshops....
Its in the shop getting a new transmission in it as of now. Lowering it would look sweet with the new ram wheels(if they fit) but I like the lifted look with the F150 stockers I currently already have in my garage(freebie).
I am probably goign with a lift, but what coils/lift kits do you 2wd guys use? I was thinking of blocks in the rear, and coil spacers in the front.
