A 3/4 ton first gen Ram will have a gross vehicle weight in the 8000 pound range. A heavy duty 3/4 ton will have a gross weight of about 8510 pounds. A 1-ton should be closer to the 10k pound gross weight.

4670 lbs could be your tare weight - empty. I know that's about what my W250 weighs, but that's not a gross weight at all. Off the top of my head I don't know what my individual axle gross weights are.

Hello all, I have a 02 Ram Van 2500 CNG in need of front ball joints.

GAWR tag shows 3880 front. Does this indicate 4000lb axle? VIN doesn't work in any of the sites to run build sheet. 284JB25T62K124219

I'm aware this is a pickup thread, but there's far more traffic there than the van forums where I also asked

Thanks very much!

I can't speak for the van, but 3 of my D250 Cummins pickups have 3800# gawr on the front, and it's all 4000# stuff.

you should double check that vin. change that 8 to a B and the build sheet pops right up but won't really help

FARK!!! That's what VIN was sent to me without access to the vehicle, now looking at the placard you're very much right.

Thanks very much for all the help to you both. I've ordered both sets and will return the unused pair.
