Default How much u think its worth

I am thinkin of sellin my truck but im not to sure about how much i should sell it for. Its an 1983 Ram D150 Pickup 4x2. 318 V8 with 89k ORIGINAL miles. the carb isnt more than a year old and i jus put a new ignition in it. I did a full tune up and the paint is good with jus a few knicks here and there. The bed and back bumper are kinda rusty but im about to paint the bumper. I had to bypass the automatic choke so when u first start it up u gotta let it warm up for a second. I tried kelly blue book but they wont price anything b4 1986 lol. Any suggestions?

Not worth selling most likely. You wont get more then $1000 from anyone who is serious. KBB for a 1991 is $2000 and thats for excellent condition (only 5% of all cars are excellent). $1500 is KBB for a good condition 1991 like mine. You might as well just hold onto the truck unless you need it gone for some reason. :-/

Edit: If theres rust on the truck, or even worse rust holes, it will only be worth a couple hundred becasue rust immediatly drops the resale value of any vehicle. Only thing you have going for you is that stealerships typically oercharge for used trucks by about 50% of their value. So your angle could be dont pay more for a dealership, buy it private and save. Ya know?

I agree ^^^^ Vehicles get to a point where they're not worth selling unless you really need it gone. Eventually they start going up in value (if kept in great condition) and then the prospects of selling it are much better.

Ok i really disagree wit both of u. I mean i have someone lined up who will pay atleast 2000 for my truck. Kbb is bull****ting u if they say that ur truck is only worth 1500.....w would u honestly sell ur truck for thjat much? I think not unless u are that desperate for the cash. I kno ppl who are serious about trucks and would buy ur truck for more than that. I saw the pictures of it and it is worth more than 1500. Mine is a good reliable truck and its in good condition for its age. Now if u honestly think my truck is only worth a couple of hundred dollars then go ahead and beleive it but i kno its worth more. Thanks for the info but ill pass.

YOU asked our opinion. And I don't recall anyone saying your truck was only worth a couple hundred bucks [&:]

You mentioned some things that would definitely lower the price/prospects in my eyes. 2wd....rusty bed...the fact that the truck is as old as I am.

With the way gas is going, people don't want older trucks that get 10-12 mpg. They want high teens to low 20s in mileage. It's getting harder and harder to sell trucks...especially ones that don't get that kind of mileage. Heck, I only paid $4900 for my truck last year and I'd be lucky to get $4,000 right now if I sold it....and I've only put 2,000 miles on it.

But hey, if you can get more for it, then more power to you!

If you have someone willing to pay $2k the take it.

Thats probably the best your gonna get, unless you live in a town full of gullable people. lol.

I just bought a 84 Ram Shortbed. It was just professionaly re-built and repainted. NO RUST A freshly rebuilt 318 with moderate cams, little over 1000 miles on her, 2bbl cam, 10MPG, and new straight pipes with glass packs that sound mean. New clutch on the 4 speed manual, new front brakes,And new Hoosier tires on all 4's.
The cost....$1500.00 is all.
Sad to say but Dodges are not commanding that much.
Great for the buyer.
