Any one lowered a 78 d150 need help!
I need to find some one that makes any kind of kit to lower the front. Or any suggestions to make up something custom. The back will be no problem just a axle flip. I am about to go crazy. I dont really want to cut the springs but if i had to i would, but i probley wouldnt get enough compared to the back. I figure with a axle flip would lower the rear aleast 3.5" if not more. Please help before i pull my all my hair out
id look into a airbag setup ive been doin research and it seems worth it to go that route one company quoted 1400 for a kit that also relocates shocks so my rides not harsh cutting springs is dangerous and will damage componets they also had torison bar brackets although for mini trucks should still work on a 150 btw a properly done airbag set up has a better towing capacity.
a complete set up u doing the work is around 1500 with the rear ladder bar or 4 link u can also just air bag the front for about 700 which since ur flipping the rear axle is a good option ur truck doesnt really need the rears if u just want a lowered stance btw u can also save and eventully buy it u dont wanna settle for cut springs it does more damage than good and is dangerous
i lowered a 91 d150. not that hard if you the right tools. i did a flip kit on the rear end. shackle mounts from Mopar. look in the JEGS or Summit in the Mopar part for them about 12.99 or something like that. take the stock mounts and put them on the bottom. get the longer u-bolts from autozone or someplace like that. and the front, how ever you want to lower it. do it. i took heavy duty coils and cut them. rides pretty good. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2214774
there is a set of coil springs for that truck. you just have tofind them. find the spring rate for the coil springs on the front of your truck. find a coil spring with about the same. theres a truck in copperas cove that did it. but the owner is not the same owner how put the springs on. just look about if you want to it the right way.....

u live and u learn. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT CUT 1.5 COILS OFF OF THE STOCK SPRINGS I DID IT AND NOW MY TRUCK IS SITTING ON BUMP STOPS. I feel like i am driving a hoptee.
did you try the heavy duty coil springs. check at a local part store, there not that much or find a pair at a junkyard. i would say cut a little at a time and put them on each time. it's not fun, but it's worth it.
