I'm getting about 10 mpg in my '84 Ram with a 318, but I'm just getting used to a V8, and I'm driving it hard.

My 1976 W200 w 360, auto. trans and fulltime axle, 4:10 gears, and 12;00 16.5 tires was getting 9 mpg.
I added headers, dual exhaust with turbo mufflers, crane RV. cam, Edelbrock 600 cfm 4 bbl,new stainless steel valves, redid the heads, 1.60 and 2.02 valves.
My mileage is now at 14 mpg.

I am getting 12.2 in town and 13.5 on the highway. I have a 318 with a single barrel carb. automatic. I drive it like an old man.

Ive been finding some cheap 360s online and even though im lookin mainly for a LA 318 i was wondering what kind of gas milage i could get if i got a stock LA360 and paired it to a 4 speed automatic and have it run with my 2.94 axle ratio, by the way it would be goin into a Dakota

21mpg
'93 318 magnum (250k+ miles on it)
Auto transmission, 4x2

I posted similar post in another thread, so don't want to get in trouble for reposting it here...
This motor gets better mileage with a mix of e85 and e10 (bout 40/60 - so about e50?)
I also have 5w50 in the motor right now, with the hot florida summer.
and, I have to give credit to the Denso Iridium plugs I got for a 3-4mpg increase in fuel economy.
Like I said in the other post, I'm going to be working on making it a 25mpg truck - with some body work as well as engine and other systems tweaking.

95 ram 1500 360 only put a k&n filter in it and now get 16-17 in town and got an amazing 27 highway running at 70 mph. my truck is only 2wd though so a 4wd will prolly get a little bit lower readings. i do my own math too. dont have the computer to tell me.
