Originally my truck had a slant six and with 235 15's on it I would suprisingly get about 19 highway and 18 in town. The real shock came when I was fourbying and had it getting 21 in four low. I know it should never work that way, but it did. Also if you notice the chicago origin for me you may be skeptical but I lived in Montana until 2006. Now the truck has a 318, edlebrock performer intake and performer RPM cam with a 670 holley and I am not sure of its mileage but I know its better then when I had a stock two bbl carter on my last 318. (Single 2 1/4 exhaust, stock cat, 31x10.5, 3.54 gears.)

 

My 86 W150 with a Performer and a 450CFM Econojet and 14" air filter averaged 13.6 MPG from Colorado Springs to Albuquerque and back pulling my car trailer. On a perfect day I can pull about 17MPG with a tailwind at 60MPH LOL...

 

My 85 ram was a slant 6 so what rear end they have stock, but swapped. 318 holly 2bbl and a 727 with 31 bf all terrains (x10.5) i get about 12 maybe 13. It doesnt care if its loaded or not. Cant lose mileage when you didnt have it to begin with. Anyone know thet difference in gearing if there was a standard rear end for the 318 and /6? Just curious.

 

90 w150 with fi 360 and np435 im getting7-9 roding around and so far best all city driving is 11.8 and a 60/40(hwy/city)mix i got13.4 and thats keeping it under 55 after 60 it get annoying crusing with the motor wond up as high as it does altho if my truck didnt wander like it does hahaha i mite make 14
all stock exept i cut off the stock muffler and dumped in front of the tires and im running 33.1250 with 3.55 gears

 

Had a 1990 150 2wd club cab, 318 NP435, 3.21 rear. Averaged 22 coming back from Indiana with it. Around town was 18-19. We were fairly conservative with it.

92 4x4 dually club cab, Cummins with some go-fast goodies, Getrag 360 and 3.54 rear. 15-16 city (<40mph most of the time); 18hwy at 70; got 20 with it once going 60. Rated from the factory for 160/400. Estimate 240/600+. Will get a new injector pump and injectors this year, maybe a cam. Shooting for 25hwy with it.

04 Dakota 2wd V6 auto club cab. Used to get 22-24hwy/ 18ish city. Now getting 18-20 hwy/15-16 city.

My 04.5 diesel 2wd gets 28 @ 67 mph

 

1982 D150 Shortbed with 225/6,904with lock-up,3.55 rear gears,P235/75x15tires and HEI conversion.I went from 11mpg with lean burn to 20mpg with HEI.The truck now gets better mileage than the astro van it replaced.

 

wish there was something i could do to my tbi 318 to get a change like that
