Yes, the method works for stickers. You dont use dental floss on them though.

Warm the sticker up with your blow dryer, and then flick at the edge gently with a finger nail. Be careful not to scratch at the paint - just the edge of the decal. Once you have an edge, you can pull it away, keep applying heat as you pull it away - and you will have a nice clean area to work with.

Apply a little bit of the tar and bug remover, and then finish accordingly.
