Default RE: software upgrade is out

I don't know if I would want the new flash or not.. My R/Ts transmission is like everyone else's where it goes in and out of gearshard and while I know it doesn't feel right I kind of like the extra kick it gives when driving.

I test drove the dealer's R/T who said he had a beta flash in hisR/T.. It was very smooth and felt like I was driving a car with turbo.. basically it would hesitate for a second between gears then accelerate quickly which was an interesting feel but the car I have now feels faster since I get an extra kick of speed when it engages the next gear.

Actually now that I think about it that's kind of messed up because I purchased the car thinking that it wouldinclude the firmware flash and ride as smooth as the dealer's car and the smoothness of thetransmission was one of my factors in purchasing. Its pretty much like false advertising letting you demo a car that does not perform like the one that you purchase. But now that I am used to the hard shifting I'm not sure if I would want to go back..

I had the opportunity to racea Mustang GT yesterday.. He complimented me on my car then asked about how fast it was.. I was like "It's ok" thinking he would blow me away but then we lined up and started racing (It just kinda happened) and when it was over I passed him by 5 car lengths.. I was quite suprised especially since I didn't even think of using the sport shifter. He gave me a thumbs up and drove away. Thinking back to the test drive R/T I am not sure I would have had the lead with the flash due to the hesitation (Even though it was a beta flash)

I guess it depends on how you plan on driving the car because at low speeds the transmission is annoying when it shifts but when you get on it, the hard shifting transmission seems to be a benefit.

It's like computers, Sometimes Microsoft will say they have a patch or update to fix a specific problem and then after you wish you never touched it. I thought about my appointment today and saying to myself "Don't get too excited". That's pretty impressive about the race. At least the other was man enough to give the thumbs up. Sometimes there's some real sore losers out there.

Oh man I'm so glad I found this web site. I have been digging through sites trying to see if anyone else was having the same issues I was having with my new Avenger and BINGO. I have been so frustrated with hesitation between 30-40 MPH that I've already been back to the dealership twice. And of course each time they say they fixed it and that they couldn't feel anything wrong with it and it only takes me 20 feet down the road to know that it's still not fixed. I have a R/T as well and they claimed that they did an upgrade to it. This was back in the beginning of October, but from the sounds of it the R/T upgrade still hasn't come out yet. That correct?

The upgrade is not out for the R/T yet. What the dealer did with your R/T was a quick re-learn, which isto reprogram to factory spec. thinking that wouldtake care ofthe problem. Sort of like asystem reboot in computer talk.

I think they better get something fast. Seems like too many people are getting frustrated about this. I was told by someone else it was a normal thing for my car and I said "If this is normal it's going to drive me nuts!". So I sympathize with the R/T owners. Maybe if someone calls a customer service number at Chrysler they can find out if they're working on it. As far as you guys go,You're in the dark waiting and wondering. I don't care for that.

I have had mine since June 9th with about 15k and 7 trips to the dealer. They have told me it is normal. Well this thing is getting much worse. It started at about 15-20mph with a clunking noise. This thing has slammed at 40mph now. Itis getting hard enough to chirp tires with the AWD R/T. Between this and the lifter noises I am starting to regret switching to domestics.
The response for the valvetrain noise was "you should hear the Hemi's" Thanks guys but I DON'T have a Hemi. It would be SWEET if they did though

Ya normal. That's a joke. What car shifts like that ever? Unless you have a transmission that needs to be repaired. Mine acted like a car I drove years ago when the bands were slipping. It's a shame I have to hear a person say regret switching to a domestic. A big shame a person living in a America (I assume you're American) feels that foreign vehicles made by foreign car makers are better. What the heck is going on.
