Default software upgrade is out

Computer upgrade for the 4 speed auto's is now out. Those having problems with hard up-shifting or down shifting, Chrysler has the upgrade ready. No word yet on the upgrade for the 6 speed auto's as of yet. So I still have to live with the hard shifting for awhile more with my R/T. This info came from a Chrysler Northeastrep who was looking into the shifting problem with my R/T. The problems are software based, and Chrysler is taking care of the problems. There are alot of hard second to first down shifting problems out there within the Seabring and the Avenger line up. There has even been complaints of the same shifting problems in other Chrysler cars and van's.

What I feel is the car the car almost feels like it's hesitant to go into the gear at 35 to 40. Almost like if you were to push on the gas on and off a little. It's not really loud, Just a slight noise.

I'll answer in case you're asking me. I have the 4. That's awful if the gears were knocking. What the heck!

Well there is still no update for the R/T's yet. According to Chrysler no damage will happen to the tranny, and how much of this will I agree with ? so far there is no change in the shifting. Still shifting hard from 2nd to 1st gear, and at times from 1st to 2nd in the upshift. So I do believe no damage will happen to the tranny as I have notnoticed anychange.

I have posted about my ordering the Jet performance chip for my R/T. I have been told to hold off installing it untill the software update is programed into the computer.

Thanks very much for the info. Tomorrow I'm getting the radio flashed because it's gaining time alot and the flash for the transmission. The dealer said if the flash doesn't work for the transmission, Then they have to replace the converter. I haven't read about the converter part yet anywhere.
