Had my avenger for about a month now. If im going downhill and come to a stop, the parking brake light will come on, same story on the highway when im going fast and slow down? Is this in any way normal?

No its not normal.... But that being said, I'm starting to notice mine come on intermittenly for no reason at all.... Parked, stopped or moving doesnt matter.

Mine stopped when I filled it more with brake fluid. It doesn't happen anymore.

Ok thanks, I will check and see if I need some fluid, hopefully that will be an easy fix, it makes a little sense now!

You guys might want to check your brakes. The fluid gets low in the master cylinder as the brakes wear.

I could be mistaken.... but isnt the parking brake a mechanical system with a cable from the brake lever to the rear disk brakes? Its not part of the normal pedal braking system.... so the parking/emergency brake doesnt have anything to do with the fluid.... At least most all other parking brakes Ive seen are designed that way.... Thus the reason its aka as an emergency brake... to use when your normal brakes fail....
Ive been wrong before though.

My avenger was low on brake fluid, I topped it off and the problem went away!
