Poor Gas Mileage
Is anyone out there have poor gas mileage on a 08 dodge avenger RT with the 3.5? 20-21 is what I am getting. 10 miles straight shot to work and back. Using cruise control and not sitting there and idling. Cruising at 55 mph. Any ideas?
Mines an xlt, but same thing, just bought it and only got 260 m per fill up. We learned that in real cold weather dont let it sit and idle to warm up . This time we got 360. Still should be more though I would think. Our big 2000 Impala got better than this so Im thinking something still has to be wrong. DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF CHANGING THE SPARK PLUGS AT ONLY 43000 MILES IS RECCOMENDED 4 BETTER GAS MILEAGE????
20-21 mpg for short trips/city driving is normal. The only time you see 30+ mpg is on the freeway (you will only see that on the milage gauge on longer trips, since the gas milage gauge averages.)
Even 10 miles is still a short trip

Hello,

I thought I would post my Kilometer-age, or Milage, for others to compare. I did this to see how my driving habits actually were affecting my driving, and whether the company reported milage was accurate.
This is from a 2010 Aventer R/T with the 3.5L engine, purchased in Feb 2010. At first I used high octane gas, then switched to 89 to see if there was any improvement. All driving is half city (60 km/h) half country (100 km/h).
