Radio
Does anybody know how to use the computer control on the radio? I need to reset the oil life and the tire pressure light keeps goin off but can't reset it, didn't come with a book. I know on our old Impala it was by holding in the power button for 5 second but this must be totally diiferent from an 08 Avenger
To reset the oil change lite, turn the key on and push the gas pedal down three times and hold on the third. Turn key off. Start engine the oil lite should be reset. On the tires, ck all air pressure and sometimes the spare has a sensor too. Drive for two mins and the code will reset itself. If the code does not go off then you may have a fault and need to have it looked at.
There is no computer in the radio. The information displays you're talking about are integrated into the instrument cluster.
There's no need to leave the pedal depressed after the third time before you turn the ignition off. Simply turn the ignition to "on", press the gas pedal all the way down 3 times in rapid succession, release the pedal, turn the ignition off, and turn the car on and the oil life will have been reset.
In my experience with these cars, there's no need to drive the vehicle after resetting the tire pressures. Inflate the tires to the pressures listed on the sticker on your driver's door jamb, and the light will go out. I've never seen a vehicle whose light didn't go out right away, on any Dodge model. No need to drive it for several miles.
If it does not go out, take it in and have the system checked. These vehicles have a donut spare, so there's no sensor in the spare. The pressure in the spare should be 60psi.
