Uconnect question

I have followed your posts and realize that you have helped many people with their radio issues and appreciate your doing so. In fact when I am unable to help I have often listed a link to some of your posts. I only responded because I wanted others to know why I could not post what you did. Believe me there are many times when I would like to say much more than I do but I am limited in regards to some issues like the one we have ran into here.

Yeah.
Well it seems as though my dealer was not quite right in the head. All this time he was leading me to believe that i was going to be able to get uconnect in my radio that i have now which is the 130/RES(standard). I knew that wasnt going to be possible. He emailed me just last week and told me that he checked with his parts guy for the third time and they just found out that its not going to be able to work. All this time he was assuming that i had the 130S/RES which uconnect was able to be installed into it.
So i asked him how much would a new 130S/RES radio cost with Uconnect installed and labor and connections and all that other junk, and he told me it all came out to be $1,006.52.
I told myself what the hell and went ahead and told him to order it. Ill let you guys know how it turned out then
hopefully well.

KD, NOOOOOO. Cancel that order. I'm telling you that there is a kit coming for that RES radio without the UC buttons. Let me look more into the date for release. There's no need to spend that much money when the new kit will be around $350 - $400.

Yeah i know X, but I dont think that kit your talking about will be able to support Sirius will it? I mean that guy gave me a year free membership and i cant even enjoy it because the SE Dodge Avenger doesnt come with the 130S/RES unit.
I also got to thinking about how this new upgrade thats coming out for the standard radio will look like. I mean, i dont know how its going to look, like if it will have an external unit with these UC buttons, will it make the overall apperance of the inside look un-appealing with this device hanging from the radio or elsewere, stupid stuff. I just didnt know what it would look like.
I guess ill hold off until you get me a little more info on it...

Well that verifies something else that I heard. The RES radio without UC also doesn't come with Sirius. In that case, then yes if you want Sirius then you would need the new radio. The new kit will have a small touch pad about 1"x1.5" that will contain the UC buttons but everything will display on the radio.
