This started a few weeks ago. For some reason the battery is being drain. It is not even a year old since it was replaced. I made sure nothing was connected in the car that both power outlets had nothing in them. What can be done to find out what is causing the battery to drain after a week.from me charging the battery again.

Hi again ... I did the check according to the video ... the only difference is the battery in the video is in the engine compartment. The battery on this car is in front of the tire on the driver side. I can't get to the neg/. terminal as he does in the video unless I remove the battery, I hooked up my multimeter to the battery terminals next to the engine. I disconnected the neg. cable and did it as he did in the video, but my meter reading at the lowest setting showed reading was too small to read.

Please advise.

 

Do you have a 2.4 engine with air injection on the front of the motor. If you do, disconnect it and your draw should go away.

 

I have the 2.4 engine, but I don't think I have an air injection on the front of the motor. I am guessing it is something I would not miss?

 

Wellsir ... I had my mechanic look at the car and they could not find the trouble either. So I asked if I disconnected the battery would it effect the computer and they said no. So that is what I did. When I had to use the car again I connected the battery back up. While I was driving I notice it was running rough. It didn't stall or anything but I was running where I could feel it jerking. I top up and fuel and added some that gas dryer stuff, for water in the fuel line that can happen this time of year. It ran a bit better after that.

I figured I should keep the battery hooked up so when ever I go outside I start it up. I notice the electrical warning light flashing ... anyone knows what that means? ... In order to get it to stop I have to stop and restart the car. I noticed I have to wait awhile to turn it off to get the light to go out ... long enough for the engine to warm up otherwise the light will stay on even after I restart. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Do you think disconnecting the battery caused it? Or was it just one of those things that just happened?
