crutchfield says an RC has 5.25" in back. It would be a struggle to squeeze 6.5's in a 5 1/4" hole, especially if something is blocking the path.

thanks magnet i knew it was something like that, the depth is probably different too. if the club cabs can use the 6.5 with the factory system i should be able to. but mine are buried behind the seatbelts so they are really muffled. im gonna try and relocate these to the middle of the truck, like recesed into the back wall.

you have an RC, so anything is possible with a little fiberglass and time. I'm an ext cab, and mine are in the side panels under the flip-out windows. The RC just doesn't have the space, probably. Generally speaking most speakers are 1.75-2.25" deep regardless of size, just because of the basket and magnet. Curvatures and aiming is what usually decides diameter.
