Default need some dak help

I just bought a '01 5.9l dak sport for about 4500. it ran great until about three weeks ago when the headers melted some plug wires and the throttle cable, i was thinking the tps was going bad because i read 2.19v at WOT but the slapped another one on and got just about the same reading, so i was wondering is that a normal reading? the throttle isnt as responsive as it was when i baught it and im at a stand still, any help would be appreciated thanks.

IIRC, idle should be like .4-.9ish and wot=4.5ish with no dead spots. maybe you just got a bad tps again.

well the one i tried out last, i pulled off the tb turned it with a flat head and read about 4.7v, but that was about a 1/2 turn and the throttle plate only makes a 1/4 turn... so not sure what to do?

If you can't get full throttle with the linkage attached, I'd start looking there first?

already checked the throttle plate, had the wife push to the floor and it probably opened 90 to 95% so the linkage its self is ok.

Doh, i read your post wrong. I forgot that WOT is only 1/4 turn of the throttle shaft. Have to wonder if the melted plug wires messed up anythign electrical

i hope not, they werent completely melted, just beginning to melt and deform, but the throttle cable on the other hand, started dripping on the headers... that sucked cleaning up lol... but other than that, physically nothing else looked damaged. but like i mentioned earlier the tps read the correct amount of volts when turned further.... have you or anyone tested theirs on this forum and read different?

no I haven't but I believe others have. How exactly did everything start melting? Put in the wrong places? Plug wires I can understand, but not throttle cable. Maybe somebody else can chime in.
