searched, but nothing came up with what i was looking to do. i was just trying to figure out if this would work.....the dakota i might get has the buckets with the "jumps seat" in the center that acts as the armrest. can i take a center console out of another dakota & bolt it right in? or is it not worth the trouble?
It's well worth the trouble. I picked up a center console from a second Gen Dakota, a 2001, and installed it in my 06. I'm extremely happy with it. Check out this thread, it shows what was involved for the swap.
sweet. thanks. that's a great right up. it's good to know that i will not need to change the seats either. guess i'll try to get to a junkyard or keep searching ebay & craigslist.
does anyone know if the center consoles of the earlier years will fit into later years? i think i found a console from a 2000. but i'm not sure if it will fit into my 2004.
yeah. it's definitely different. i'm wasn't sure about the mounting holes either. i may go with a universal Tuffy console instead. found one cheaper than a stock console.
