Default Old Dakota Owner - But New Here

I've owned 3 Dakotas (1994 2wd,2003 4wd Quad Cab,& a 1995-
4WD Club Cab that I have now).
I'm thinking about replacing the '95,but can't find out when
the Club Cab went to the opening rear quarter doors.
I'd like to find one with that feature, with the 4.7 V8,5/6 speed,
4WD,low milage,with non peeling paint,for a reasonable price.Am I
out of line here?

Hi Doug,

The Club Cab never had 4 doors, just the 2. You're thinking a Quad Cab. If you want a 4.7 then you'd be looking at the 2000 or later model years. No 6 speed was available in a second gen Dakota, just the 5 speed.

As for the 6speed,I was looking in Wikipedia.
Were the 3rd generation available with the rear
doors on the Club Cab (& I don't mean Quad Cab).

I think the change was in 2005, the Club Cab getting the rear doors, so it's 3rd generation.

The 6 speed also came along 3rd Gen.

You're looking for an '05 or later.

Thanks! - Still trying to decide to keep the '95,
which I really like, despite its flaws,or go with a newer rig.
