Default 2000 5.9 automatic Dakota

so here i am buying a 2000 dakota of my dreams, i drive it home (about 1200 hiway miles), then it starts dropping out of gear, after a few times, i figured if i shifted into neutral, then back again, i could continue.
made it home, the next day i got a code, i changed the governor and solenoids out.
test drove it, no codes, but still shifting out of gear...
dodge parts dealer of no use.
pictures are to vague at best, plus the only part that i was a thermostat valve, well can't get it any more.
so what give's???
drives great when cold, soon as it warms up, back to my problem...

Did you change the governor pressure sensor as well? Adjust the bands?

Probably wouldn't hurt to re-torque the valve body bolts..... Might consider putting a drain plug in the trans pan as well.

Cool

ok, thanks for the information.
i started this journey with advice from a good friend that said there is a thermostatic valve in the transmission line, he said it was malfunctioning, and that i should remove it. problem was he did not know where it was located on my 5.9, 46re combination.
i have looked at all the OEM manual information, it mentions one in the cooler, but could not find its location.
as it was recommended that i remove it altogether.
the dodge dealer said it was in a replaceable flex line, but its no longer available. and as his book, was not much help, it did not list what engine transmission package it went to.
https://www.cascadetransmissionparts.com/ i was thinking on getting a rebuilt valve body from these guys...
would you recommend them, or some other site?
THANK YOU AGAIN...

So far as I know, there isn't one. There is a check valve in the cooler line, up by the radiator...... but, that would only cause the trans to overheat, lite would come on in the dash, and O/D Off lite would be on. You are losing pressure somewhere though.....

Doesn't really matter where you get 'em, just make sure they are of good quality.
