Default 2003 dakota transmission governor solenoid

2003 dakota
3.9 motor
Need info on installing governor solenoid in auto transmission

Drop the pan, drop the filter, there it is. Change the governor pressure sensor as well.

I just changed the solenoid and sensor, I didn't need to remove the filter (46RE). After you remove the plate (2 star screws, 3, 7/16 bolts) the solenoid will come off with the plate, remove the sensor. Then slide in the new sensor, there is a U channel in the plate that holds the sensor in. Remove the solenoid from the U channel in the plate and install the new solenoid in the u channel (lube the o-rings with ATF). Put the plate back on the VB, align the U channel to mate up the slot in the sensor, then push down on the solenoid, you will hear a "click" when the solenoid is seated. Put the 2 star screws in tight with a screw driver bit and torque the 3, 7/16 bolts to 110 inch lbs. I flushed out the connectors with electrical cleaner, but I don't think that was needed. Would be good to check the torque on the VB bolts, it 100 or 110 inch lbs depending on what source you look at.
