Default The Pits as in Pitman Arm

Hello been awhile for me here. I am trying to get this pitman arm off this 97 4x4 dak of mine. Can anyone give me a point in the right direction. I would like to do it myself and save the hundred to get it done... Thanks in advance for any advice ya'll can help with.... Rev Rob

Might be able to rent a puller from your local parts store... But, yeah, those guys get a tight grip on the shaft, and are extremely reluctant to let go. Can't heat it, as you will trash the seal, and possibly any bearings in there as well. I generally use chemicals, a puller, and a big hammer. Put some pressure on the puller, (impact wrench.....) then smack the pitman arm with the big hammer a few times.... Usually works....

I was just cleaning it up under there and it is real close to the frame under it. I have a nice set of pullers but it is pretty close and I am not sure if I want to loosen the box up. I did see somewhere a guy cut the bolt for the puller off some and that worked. I will see how much room there is... Thanks HeyYou long time since I was on here....
