Default what next?

i have an '01 dakota with the 4.7 V8 and i just recently got a flowmaster 40 exhaust installed and was thinking about going with the K&N FIPK intake next but i read on some other posts that it might not be worth the money, so i was wondering what everyone else thought i should get for my next performance part?

I believe, and some will disagree with me, that FIPKinstalled the right way would be a good purchase. Your not gonna install it and run low 9's in the quarter, but it should give you a faster throttle responce, anda little more power. It will sound like you gave your engine a freakin shot of steroids!! And K&N has been the shtas far asintake and filters for a while now. I would say go for it.

New guy,aquestion for you.....

What is your exhaust set up now? Did you go with flowmasets complete exhaust kit for your truck or just the muffler. What size pipes run from your new muffler??

I have the same engine as you, and having problems with the series 40 that they installed.

Do a search on "performance" or "mods" or "upgrades" or "horsepower" etc. and you will find all of your answers.

new guy.....

they ran 2.75" duals behind my muffler. Lost all low end torque. When i gun it at about 2000 RPM, exhaust just makes a funny muffled sound, and hardly any speed increase.

that sucks, did you do the exhaust yourself orfroma shop? because i would go talk to the shop and ask them why they put the wrong size pipes on and tell them it is giving you probems now.
