ok so my front rotors are warped. what is a good replacement? and one that will not break the bank while doing so.

I just did this two or three months ago on my '01 4x4 4.7L. I went with Wagner part number BD125632. No problems since - seems to be fine. I think the out the door bill was around $100 for a pair.

You're asking for an opinion, so here's my $0.02. I spent a lot of money on a set for my Corvette that were supposed to make such a phenomenal improvement in the cars breaking performance that I would dance and sing. I didn't notice anything. I mean no improvement. I'm not saying it didn't improve, but my times didn't show it and I just didn't notice it.AndIam pretty sureyou will never drive your Dakota as hard as I drive that Vette.

Learn from my mistake and save your money.

I already told you what my opinion's worth

Drilled and slotted rotors allow gases to escape and keep the rotor itself cooler. If your problem is warping rotors, give the slotted and/or drilled rotors a try. As performance goes, there is a smaller contact patch, but that difference is outweighed by the fact that the rotor is cooler. Also, you wouldn't notice much of a difference if you didn't switch pads at the same time. Going with a ceramic brake pad and a drilled/slotted rotor would be the best route, and surprisingly cheaper than you would imagine. Check out eBay for the parts.

it is driven on the highway and the city. but i do pull a 2000 pound boat with the truck. the boat trailer does not have brakes so the rotors are taking that as well
