definitaly offer less but sounds like a good truck. i was looking at a 1998 with 100k on it with a 5 spd and they wanted 7 for it and when i was talking to the guy at our garage who sells lots of trucks and cars and were really good friends with asked me before i could even tell him if they wanted around 7 when i told him about it so i would offer him that maybe 7500 at the max.
For what it's worth....
I Bought a '98 5.2L, 4x4, auto with all the bells and whistles (incl. box liner-I added a cap), 55,000 mi. Traded in a 1994 Ford Ranger 4.0L,4x4 auto (not much more) with 135000 mi. and leaking oiland $3000.00 for it.
Seems like a lot of dollars for a high milage truck.
I have replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. All were original.
Will do trans serv soon.

I just checked Kelley Blue Book and they said you shouldn't pay more than $7,000. Personally, I'd try to talk him down to $6500 or less for that...yeah, it's in good shape and loaded, but it's got a ton of miles.
I just got a 2004 Dak w 4.7, 5sp, 4x4, short cab, short bed w 15k miles for 12,000.00. Thats about loan value for these. I love it, fast and steady at 90-100 cruising speed and gets 21 mpg at the same time. Already had a shell and carpet kit which I don't really need but its nice to have it. Love these Daks !!
