Default Newbie: More Pinging fun!

1999 Dodge Dakota Sport Club Cab 4X2 3.9L w-A/T A/C and cruise. 78k miles

Ok, I've checked my PCM code- AA no Death Flash.

Checked under the TB in the intake for oil, nadda. Doesn't appear to use any oil in between when I chage it either. No visible smoke from the tailpipe.

New PVC, new NGK plugs, cap and rotor are good, re-routed my coil wire away from the plugs wires, re-loomed the plug wires...

Still getting pinging under part throttle after it's warmed up and just a complete dog at WOT. I've got a vacuum leak somewhere, but I can't find the d*amn thing. Any suggestions?

Dunno. She idles just fine, even after warming up. I've got a bottle of injector cleaner in it right now. Been running only 89 octane in it from the same station for the last 6-7 years. I'm not pulling a code on anything so if it is an injector, it isn't enough to cause it to fault.

I think I may go ahead and order one of those Hughes plenum kits just on the off chance. I've got a buddy who's going to lone me a vacuum gauge. I just realized that I could still be leaking vacuum from the plenum, but for whatever reason not seeing the oil in the intake or being consumed.

I've got a cross-country move coming up, so I may have to wait on it until after I'm back up in MN.

if you have a temp guage at what temp does the pinging start. you may need to replace your stat. some say the 195 creates pinging while the 180 will fix the problem

Dashboard gauge steady at 180. Coolant is 50/50 glycol/water mix. No leaks. Good coolant level.

the other thing is, do you use the same gas station? or do you use the same gas from different station. like always use mobil or citgo from different stations. even though it is 89 you may need to try another brand. i alway run sunoco. it is a bit more but worth it. and i get it from different stations.
