Default Starter?

02 Dakota SXThasbeen starting kind of hard ( once key is turned takes it longer than usuall to get started)for about 2 weeks. Thought it may be the plugs, but before I got a chance to change them I went out today, turned the key, got a realquick short burst, then nothing (no click, click, no starter noise at all). Tried several more times, finally started. My stereo settings were all reset like I had lost power all togeather. Battery still reads good, solid connections, so I think I can rule that out. Samew/ the spark plugs, still going to change them, but can't be part of the problem I had today. If it was the starter, would the truckgo completey dead? Any ideas, ot places to start?

sounds like you have bad connections, take off your battery terminals and clean them. and check your ground wires too.

now my stereo won't even turn on at all, along w/ my sub.. Fuses good, everything else works, truck still starts. Guess I'm going to have to do some wire chasing, hopefullydeck and sub didn't fry.... Gonna take johnny's advice, see where that gets me....

got the stereo and sub back. Turns out it was fuse, butit didn't lookcooked, changed it anyway and TADA..! Wierd thing is that even after my truck pulled that crap earlier today, the stereo was fine it just reset when it lost power. Cleaned terminals, checked ground andeverything seems good, we'll see what happens. Thanks

I have had a battery read good on a tester and the battery was no good. Don't rule out the battery.
