There is a ton of thread about this.....use the search on the bottom of the main page. But I too plan on gettin a CAI and in order for them to work then need to be relocated. The ones your looking at are above the exhaust manifold and it will only suck in hot air. So when relocating it use as little bends as possible.

An ideal cold air intake will gather air from down by your bumper area, away from the engine. Engines don't like hot air, and if you mount it right ontop of the exhaust manifolds, that's what its going to be drawing in. Get some pipe and run your filter down by your bumper, with as little bends as possible.

i was never a big fan of the CAI. Sure it gives you a few more ponies, 1-3, but its not like you can feel it, and after spending all that money your gas millage will drop way down from your foot on the gas thinking you got more hp. It will decrease gas millage because colder air is more dense thus the engine will give more fuel, giving more hp. I think most people would be beter off with just a high flow filter.

Its all about opinions anyway. I'm sure there are people that have tossed on a CAI and noticed a difference. I guess we'll never know....

if you're gonna get a cai get a K&N fipk, it's the best one out for that year/model. and yes you will notice the difference.

i have an airaid on my truck and it did make a difference. im going to mod it some so it actually pulls in cold air and not just warm air off the motor. The only thing you have to do is get some pvc piple and extend it some.
