Seeing that my truck only has one cat, how would i go about doing this.. without deleting the cat (i want to leave that as my last option)

I thought about getting a in 2 out cat.. but that would defeat the purpose of having true duels, i was going to do an x or h pipe with 2.5 all the way from the headers, and have it come out daytona styleinfront of my wheel well.

the only thing i can think of is.. not running cats.. and getting a sim. I can run true duels and leave the o2 sensor before the cat on, and then install a Sim for the 2nd sensor sending that i have a perfect flowing cat.. considering, the obd2 tests dont consist of the exhuast sniffer and go by the C/E light and engine codes.. so it might be possible..


what do you guys think.. im already thowing codes for o2s anyways due to my exhuast leak.. need a new header bolt.

 

run no cats with simms and your choice of mufflers, it'll sound great and give you performance.

 

if you dont have emission test then I wouldnt run cats. and get 2 electric exhaust cut outs after the O2 sensors and then run mufflers and have em exit before the rear tire. but to do that you have to run your exhuast on the out side of the frame rail due to the gas tank being right there. or take the tank off and get a fuel cell

 

na im going to have both tips come out the passanger side.. just like the daytona and lightning style.. not both sides.. so the gas tank is fine.

just get a high flow cat and a dual exit muffler and you'll be set.

 

duel = fight between two people
dual = two of something

If you want to run true dual exhaust, by definition, you need two cats and two mufflers.

 

technically that's not right, you dont need cats or mufflers if you want. True dual exhaust is 1 pipe comming off each exhaust manifold without being joined together with a y pipe or anything.

 

id recommend you have a h (crossover) pipe in there somewhere tho...

 

if your worried about the cat buy one more cat and run one on each pipe i'd punch them both out though H pipe good idea also keeps things equal good for the engine

 

an h or x pipe will balance out the exhaust pulses from both sides and give you better sound and probably a little better performance. just make sure it's not restrictive.
