Default Realistic gas mileage

hey guys....got a '98 dodge ram with a 5.9L V8, and with the cost of gas lately, i'm considering something a little smaller. Basically, I just wanna know what you all are getting for gas mileage realistically on a 6 Cylinder Dodge Dakota btw. '97 and '02......the write-ups say 16-22mpg, but i wanna here what some people are ACTUALLY getting. Thanks in advance.

my old dakota 98 slt 3.9L about 16MPG
my current dakota 99 slt 4x4 5.2L about 14MPG
btw you probly won't improve your gas milage much by buying a dakota.

my 2001 v6 gets about 15 in the city, 18 city highway mixed, and 24 strictly highway, thats if i drive conservatively. if i drive aggressively take about 2 mpg off each one of those numbers. if you want gas mileage, a dak will be a slight improvement over a ram.

^ same pretty much for me with my v6, keep the weight down to and invest in a tonneau cover as well

My 3.9L V6 powered club cab atx gets 21 mpg all highway with a typical mixed tank being around 18-19 mpg. That is still mostly highway. That's on a 60k mile truck.

i think dakota's are alot more practical than rams. for people who dont normally haulbig things, a dak has everything you need.
