Default Price of tranny fluid for 2000 3.9?

Went to pepboys and they want 100 for a tranny flush but want me to buy the oil at the dealer for it since they don't sell it. Its for an automatic so im wondering how much its gonna cost me to buy it at the dealer? Thanks ahead of time.

i want to say about $40 a gallon, im probabally wrong... but worth it... plus i would only let a dealer do the flush.. granted your paying twice as much but you know it was done properly, in my opinion

Cool yea im tired of it only shifting smooth once it warms up. So if they adjust the bands like ive been told and to a new filter it should run so much smoother. Even with this im still averaging 18.6 mpg on it with 93000 miles.

Whoa... yea... your wrong (unless the price of ATF+4 has doubled in 4 months!).
It's usually around $4-5 a quart.
Mopar (obviously) and Valvoline make ATF+4, and slowly but surely, more companies are getting licensed by Chrysler to do so.
But make sure that whoever services your transmission uses ATF+4 (or Mobil 1, or Amsoil). Dexron/Mercon simply don't make the cut. Might save ya $10 on the fluid, but it could cost ya $2,000 for a transmission. (Oh, and ATF+4 is synthetic by nature)

I think the last time I went to top off the tranny fluid for my Ram, NAPA only had ATF+4. It shouldn't be hard to find.
