Default 2000 Dakota cruise control issue

Hope someone can shed some light on my problem. I have a 2000 Dakota SLT ext cab 4X4 4.7 litre. The problem is, My cruise control quit working today for no apparent reason. The "cruise" light doesn't come on and the cruise isn't active. On the start up self diagnose the "cruise" light does work, so it's not a bulb issue. Is there a fuse somewhere that I have missed or is it Computer issue?
PLEASE HELP!!!!

Is your air bag light on as well? Take apart your steering column cover and make sure that the connections running from the computer to your steering wheel are tight.

Check the fuses, both inside the cab and under the hood.

I did that to. Pretty much did all the easy stuff, was wondering if there migh be a fuse or relay somewhere that i didn't look. Does the cruise operate thru the computer, or is it a separate circuit on it's own?

IIRC, there is a cruise control relay in the fusebox under the hood. You will want to double check that in your service manual...if you don't have a service manual, download it immediately.

Nope no CC relay under hood. I figure it's got to be the switch or the computer. Just rather odd that it would just stop working all of a sudden

Im sure there is one, look under the hood, there is the black box and on the cover there should be a list of everything listed. I don't think your Cruise would just burn out like that.

I know which Box you are talking about it the relay box andit's on the drivers side above the wheel well. It has nothing in there for cruise control though, I have checked it and the fuse box on the dash.
