Default abs

is there any issue of rear abs, verses 4 wheel abs? i'm not sure about the trucks im looking at if they have 4 wheel abs, and I recall an article written about ford f-150's when they first came out about how rear abs was not well-liked due to uncontrolled descent on a sand dune. is that an issue, or does the rear abs compensate for the front wheels locking up in the wintertime?

thanks for all the help on these issues.

The whole point of the abs system is to not let the front wheels lock up.

Default RE: abs

even if the abs is only on the rear wheels?
Is that how they came in the 99 and 00, with an option of 4 wheel abs, but standard on rear wheels?
