new member here and have a ?, I have a 2000 qc V6 w/158K, truck runs good except for the first 30 seconds or so the first time its cranked after sitting awhile, then it idles terrible but after about 30seconds it clears right up and is fine. I'm confused! Any suggestions appreciated.
One piece of routine paintenance I recommend for everyone, is to remove their throttle body and clean it up real good. You'll be surprised how much it can improve idle performance. I'm not saying it will fix your problem, but it's a good cheap thing for you to do at home and there is no down-side.
thanks for the advice, checked those things and could not find anything. Its strange that it only idles rough for about 20 or 30 seconds and then immediately smooths out???? Still hoping maybe someone else has had this problem. Thanks..............
not sure mine actually does the reverse lol. idles great for first like 20 seconds or so then putts a bit for another bit then smoothes out. gotta do a tune up though so.
Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. Also try cleaning your IAC (Idle Air Control) Valve. It's onthe back of the TB, unscrew it and clean the plunger real good.
