hey been a mopar fan for many years now but iam looking at a new truck this would be my 1st dakota iam looking at one it ia a 1999 dakota 5.9
with70,000 milescan anyone tell me if they are reliable/ good trucks or do things start going wrong with them at this point thanks, ryan any help would be great tell me ur experience GOOD AND BAD

 

i have the same exact truk with 90000

perfect. nothing wrong with it xcept oxidization of the paint

 

Double check everything. I bought a dakota worked fine until I went 4x4in. The truck went down hill from here. Water went into the transmission and caused problems. Now I got it rebuilt and problems again but I think because of the bands which werent replaced. Just make sure all your gaskets on the bottom are doing there job...

 

is it an R/T? I love my truck. I wouldent trade it for anything! (well theres a few cars i can think of...lol)

I have had 3 rocker arms break BUT thats was because the previous owner didnt tell me that it had a aftermarket Cam with stock rockers. I changed to Roller Rockes and problem was fixed

other then that the truck is great. not that many Dakota R/Ts around. thats what i love about it. I cant stand haveing a car that EVERYBODY has *cough* mustang *cough*

good miles to.. i would go for it....

 

ya it is a R/T black im thinin if i get it to put limo tint on it and do u know anyone that make "smoked" like a light tintheadlights and taillights for dakotas i know u can get them for fords i know u can get those covers over them but arent those velcro'd on and kinda look stupid thanks

 

its easy juss to send em in and get it painted.

but driving this truk has only made me realize.

My wife and I both had one. Mine was a 1999. Wife like it so much, she bought a 2000. She still has hers. Mine got traded in on a Magnum R/T. Great trucks. And yeah, we're in Michigan.
