Default Wheel Scrub Information Needed!

Hi there,

I've been hearing and seeing that alot of lowered Dakota's are having trouble with wheel scrub in the front.

I was wondering, I'll be gettin a set of 20" Rims in the Spring with 275/45/20's all the way around. My question is...Will the fronts rub if i were to lower it say 2-3 inches?

why the hell does everyone lower these r/ts 2/3..

get the TVS kit.. lower it 1/2.5 and put 20s on it.. and dont have a problem.. the Hotchkis kit looks GREAT on these trucks.

Im going to be doing the 1/2.5 TVS kit for mine with 20in RTS A/R Rims with 275/45/20s all the way around.. and if you do it like that it wont rub.

EDIT: you also have to remember when these kits online say 2/3 drop. R/Ts are already lowerd 1in so - 1in from what it says and whats what you get not 2/3 but 1/2...

liek the TVS kit..

unless it says 2/3 FOR R/T susp.

I never said mine was an R/T did I? So take it easy

I'm doing a 2/3 with the Hotchkis Setup yes.....Will the 275/45's Rub? Seeing as I will only be down an actual 2" instead of an R/T's 3?

no.... the r/ts dont get droped 3in, they are ALREADY lowerd 1in factory, so when you buy the TVS kit.. it only lowers it 1/2.5 NOT 3/4...

TVS KIT
Specs: 2" Front Drop (1" On RT Models), 3" Rear Drop (2.5" On RT Models)

so if you dont have R/T Model max drop your going to get is 2/3 and if you go with 40 or 45 aspect tires.. you will be be fine.

All these cheap drop kits are just coils and springs of other cheap ****..

If you want handleing and lowerd this is the way to go.. not only will you have better control but it looks good to and you can take those corners like a s2000.

very good money, if you want to drop it lower then that just get bags...

Ok that's what i was looking for..and yes I understand that the R/T model comes lowered from factory.

Thank you for the information...and I totally agree with the whole "Go with the Hotchkis"...Their name is at the top for a reason

u gotta watch out wen u lower ur vehicle becuz it duznt always go as low as wat th box/ ad says. case and point: my buddy buys a 2-3 lowerin kit for his cobra, ends up sittin 3/3.5 - 4/4.5 lower...and dont put 20s on an r/t. performance vehicles dont need non-performin rims, bigger rims create a rougher ride, mess up alignment quicker, and dont giv u much tread to deal with

you can buy A/R RT-S 311series rims that are 20x8.5 and run 275/40/20s all aroudn with no rub and they weigh about the same at the 17x9 with 255/55/17 tires on them..

you gain more rim but .5 less length of rim... and your using a smaller tire that weights less.. along with wider..

There is a 4.7 CC Dak in out Club that can beat some of our r/ts. he has the A/R RTS on his with the TVS kit and traction bars, and VERY LITTLE engine work.. like CAI, EXhuast... and electric fan.. thats it..

and it looks great. 20s on lowerd dak with TVS kit with 275s all around they thing can take some corners like nothing, and if your worried about having a smooth ride.. you should of never got a dodge in the first place lol...
