I'm just finishing up my 5.2 to 5.9 engine swap today. (starter took a ****) It's alot more expensive then you'd think. And probably would be even more going from a v6 to v8. Decent used 5.2 or 5.9 long block is a good $900+. Then your going to need a trans to handle the power. I doubt you can use the V6 wiring harness. So you're going to need a wiring harness, ECU,etc. I'd at least replace your stock intake manifold and throttle body for some extra power outta that v6.

I would do a 2" T/S lift. you crank the T bars 2" and get 2" shackles and raise the rear. and it only costs $50 and if you put a stock V8 TB on then you will gain a lil more power. and its cheap too. and you can buy a superchip for some more power and reprogram your spedo since your tires will throw it off a lil bit.

and I would go with a good hooker and good beer

yea u would spend probably more time and more then 2500 tryin to put a v8 into that, you would have to get the ecu and wiring harness that came with the v8, put in different motor mounts, tranny to handle the power, it'd be a lot of work it'd be best to either spend the money on those engine upgrades that durango mentioned or look at a new dakota with a v8 in it if u want a v8
