Default Truck Died

Yesterday after i got off work, i started my truck and it died on me instantly. I drive a 99 Dakota 5.2L. So i started it again, revved it a couple times and it stayed running, so i didnt think anything of it. Well about a mile down the road, i gave it some gas, but the pedal went to the floor. It died on me while i was going about 45 mph or so. I put it in nuetral and tried to start it and i got nothing. So i pulled over in this company's parking lot.

Once i got it off the road, i tried to start it, all it would do was turn over and then die. I could keep it revved, but once i let off the gas, it would die. I ended up calling my dad, who ended up driving it home. He had to keep the rpms at about 1500 or so to keep it from dying. The next morning we went to take it to a local shop and the damn thing started right up and ran great. And it hasnt messed up at all yet. The check engine light went off and never came back on.

Does anybody have a clue on what might have happened? It has gas and the fluids were fine. Im just really confused.

I 2nd the IAC... yank off the TB and clean it real good, clean the IAC and give it a shot. it is a common problem for stalling. however the 45mph stall is not one of they symptoms. that could be a coil or crank sensor...

Thanks for info guys. I'm gonna look into a new battery. Possibly an Optimum, my brother has the red top and its been good for him so far. I just dont understand how my truck could just die one night and the next day run great. Thanks again guys for your input.
