Hey everyone, I've asked this before somewhere else, but it was just a short "what if" sort of thing that wasn't truely addressed in detail.


Some one recently put a very low milage 45RFE transmission online, which would be the transmission for the 4.7L motor if I am not mistaken. They're only asking $200, and after researching the cost of even a rebuilt transmission, it seems like quite the steal.


My questions are:

Is it possible to install this transmission on the 3.9l motor?

Is it an easy install, or area ton of modifications nescessary?

How would the 45RFE transmission on a 3.9l enigne perform, or will there be no noticable difference?

Is this a retarded idea, or would it be worth getting?

i believe it's a different bellhousing.

 

The bellhousing may be differant, it may not be.
Either way, I don't think the electronics for the 45RFE would work with a 3.9L and its computer.
