HIDs in Stock housing?
My stock headlights are still in pretty good shape (Still pretty nice and clear) How will a set of 8000k HIDs do in there? Ive heard good and bad about using them in stock housings... How will the light project? I know itll be bright for on coming traffic but i dont really care...
My guess is it won't work that great because the stock housing has a bunch of crystal setup to spread the light from the looks of it. So the Beam won't be straight... But just my thoughts, invest in some nice clear ones 200 bucks on ebay will get you a good set I got some for 177 with shipping to canada so you can get it a bit cheaper... a new headlight for one side was 350 here... so thats a good deal. even napa told me 250 for one side...
i hate it when people get behind me with those hid's or if they are coming at me.it takes my eyes too long to adjust after they pass. i went with clear light assemlies using stock bulbs and the lights were brighter.
I have a set of the 1PC housings with 8000K HID's/halogen high beam, I have em aimed pretty low, I've only been flashed a few times. Because they are aimed kinda low, I can't see really really far, but where I can see is just like daylight. 100X better than factory. For long distances I use the high beam halogen bulb. It seems a LOT dimmer when you first switch from low to high (which it is), but it does project further and once you get your eyes adjusted you can actually see pretty good and for quite a ways. But I usually just leave the low beam on.
The projectors they make for our trucksare meant for use with a halogen bulb, they are not intended for an HID bulb and therefore still won't project the light like an actual HID projector housing would.
In fact I think they're worse than the reflector housing. Did a set on an SRT-10 and you can't see for crap with them.

no, but you could replace the projectors, I've seen the new honda boys use projectors from acuras with a little custom fab, I'm sure it would work great with any of these aftermarket projector headlight assemblies, but I'm sure quite a bit of custom fabrication and fine tuning to get it to light up the road right, have a nice level cutoff, and not blind anyone or look like it was done half assed. It woulds be a large amount of work, and would require a lot of time put into it to look nice.
