Default Budget Intake

Has anyone actually made this intake from the Tips and Tricks site? It talks about buying a plastic tubing from Home Depot and a K&N Cone Filter and making a budget intake from that. I guess that means that you'll be keeping the airbox but I'm not sure if I have to remove that filter box or keep it? Also, if anybody's done it, can you post a pic please! Thanks.

You would need to remove you stock airbox to create the named intake. Use the search function, as this subject has been covered numerous times with complete write-ups.

i made one.the hose went from the rectangular hole in the front bumper cover,up and over the radiator/fan shroud and directly into stock air box after removingfactory inlet tube.approx $13.00.i did away with it after driving my car through water after a rain storm-had i been driving the truck the water would have been up over the intake tube.don't want to push water into the engine.replaced stock air box with a dual air intake set up off ebay for about 75.00.there is now a compressor, tank, and a set of air horns where the air box used to be.
