Stalling after fitting Cams
I finaly got my 212X's fitted and I'm very pleased with the performance. The only problem I have is that the truck now sometimes stalls when slowing down. When I got home from picking it up from the garage (a Chrysler main dealer over here) I found that the vacuum hose that goes into the oil-filler neck was off. When I replaced it (with the engine running) it stalled but it started straight away. It had driven perfectly from the garage to home (about 10 miles) but the next morning it started stalling when coasting down. It only seams to do it when slowing down from quite slow speeds, no problems on the hightway.
Finaly, every time it stalls there aren't any warning lights on the dash. No Oil or Ignition lights. I checked for codes using the 3 tirns of the key trick and it showed no fault codes. Before taking itto the garage, I'd re-set the engine management program to stock with my Superchips programer and then re-installed the Performance program before leaving the garage forcourt! I haven't tried running it on Stock settings yet but I can't see how it would effect things as it run perfecty before.
Of course I'll be taking it back to the garage but I thought I'd ask here for any ideas first.
Thanks,
Paul

I went out driving last night to see exactly when the truck stalls. Its seamed to happen when coasting down. I found a quiet road and from 20mph just keep both feet off the pedals. when it got down to about 3-5mph the taco would go down to aprox 200-300rpm then bounce up to about 700 then drop right down to 0 if I let it. Sudden braking to a halt didn't cause a problem. No warning lights would come on.
I spoke to the cam manufactures and they said it was the engine management re-learning its base settings due to the battery being disconnected, which sounds plausable but its never do it when I've had the battery dissconnected, even overnight.
I also noticed that the idle is a little "lumpy" but I guess that could be down to the sportier profiles. Has anyone had any expirience of this problem after fitting 206/212 cams.
Apart from the stalling, they're great! Lots of power at all speeds and more sound!

humm... if this were a 5.x motor I'd tell you the IAC needed to be reset to a new idle speed. you probably have to do the same thing with the 4.7. I have no experince with the 4.7 so I cant help much...
I was told by KRC that the programer won't effect this problem.
What's the IAC and how would I go about setting a new idle speed? I set the TPS to 0.72V a couple of weeks before the cams. It made a noticable differance. Should I check its still the same reading?
Thanks for all your advice,
Paul.

and if it is maybe try setting it back to stock and see if that fixes the problem

he said that he had changed the tps voltage, im suggesting if it is still where he put it and causing problems, try resetting it to stock and see if that makes the problem go away, i know it may affect performance, but thats better than having it stall out on you
