Default 2000 Dakota tranny filter ?

I recently went to my local auto store for a tranny filter kit and they gave me a standard filter and a spin on filter,I have looked all over my truck for this spin on filter and cannot find it are there different trannies for this year? thanks.

As far as I know there isn't any spin on filter for a tranny. Just the one under the pan... Maybe thats the engine oil one?

im 99% sure chrysler's transmissions have internal filters, no spin on externals, which allison automatics are known for having, instead of dropping the pan to access the filter, just throw a spin on design which i like very much, downside, you dont see if tehres any metal parts laying in the transmission pan... yea you would be suprised of what will sit in there sometmes after abuse

That's what I thought will have to verify filter numbers and check them out? just haven't has time to convert it over to synthetic yet?

When you replace the filter in the pan, there is a spin on filter in their also....Why i dont know...

What motor do you have? When I bought the filter kit for my 3.9 there was no spin-on filter.

Also, if you read your service manual, I don't see one, nor where on could go in the tranny.

also be extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemmmmmly careful when putting the bolts bakc in the pan.... EASY TO CROSS THREAD...
