who's done it?
what other mods do you have?
and how did it perform after the swap with your mods?

Hiya SteveO.....which engine are you thinking of doing this on? the 4.7L? I am interested in this upgrade to as it seems the only good one for the intake but I don't want to do just stock but when doing the intake doing some upgrades to get the most out of it......I will follow your lead

yup, the 4.7. not sure if I'm going to do it to this Dak or not, I think I'd like to find a 4x4 std cab 4.7 5spd dak and mod that... this truck I have here I got dirt cheep and once complete, will probably be up for sale. One thing I found that I'm interested in is a different version of the transfer case that I have... allows 4 modes, 4x4lo, Neu, 2wd, Awd and 4x4hi.

some interesting reading if you have time... talks about the HO motor and what is different on it. the cams & intake would run $125 for ea left & right cam and then $175 for the intake...(probably high, I thought I saw it cheeper),

I don't know too much about the 4.7 but if you wanted more horsepower than stock, wouldn't it be better to get performance cam from comp cams or krc performance? And then add a performance intake?

the parts I listed are good for 20~25 hp easily, same on the torque and are far cheeper than what the performance guru's have. add a free flowing intake & exhaust and your probably a happy camper. my truck will probably never see the track... not the intention of the mods. overall performance bump is the goal

HO engine is only 10 hp more I believe. Probably can get that with a intake and exhaust.

and I even posted a link on it [sm=funnypostabove.gif]

The performance modifications (listed in the chart below) added 30 horsepower and 30 Ft.-Lb. of additional torque. The HO engine is designed to run perfectly on standard octane fuel, but for maximum performance Jeep recommends premium fuel.

I've got the KRC 212X cams in mine. They're ment to give 40BHP and 50LBS over stock (although I don't know if this means over a compleatly stock motor or one with all the usual mods, ie exhaust, CAI, TB etc) with a Superchips Programer or 50BHP and the same torque if you have their flashed program.
Whilst there's a definite improvement at all revs, specialy after about 2500 and she also got a little louder (no complaints there!), I'm a little disserpointed in the BHP per $. Not sure if I'd do it again.
Just my £0.01 worth!

I wonder if that is with the non H.O. intake manifold. it would be interesting to find out the output with the manny on there. I'd have to assume that all of the performance numbers have to be with supporting mods on them.
